Quotation One

We do not see things as they are.
We see them as we are.
 ~ The Talmud ~

...The following quote represents one of two sides of my tapestry theme. It reflects how we view life and how our perceptions differ due to our life experiences. How we were brought up and raised changes our views on certain matters. When we look at a certain object or person, we judge them based on who we are, rather then who they are. We take what we already know and learned, and use those judgments to define our perception. The more optimistic a person is towards the matter, the more likely they will perceive it positively. Whereas a person who has a negative view on life will perceive matters more pessimistically.
The word perception represents a truth; however the truth has many variations to it, and it depends on how the person seeking the truth views life. Our view on life, however, can be impacted by various factors, such as the people we were raised with, where we grew up and how we grew up. Depending on the different factors that impact our life, even the smallest changes can influence our perceptions in the biggest ways.
The Talmud is  is a huge collection of beliefs and laws compiled and written before the 8th Century by ancient Jewish teachers. The Talmud, which often cites the Old Testament, is the basic book of Jewish law. It is know to be Judaism's holiest book, which has had tremendous influence on the Jewish people for centuries...
